Begin Together 2020

Begin Together 2020 Bank of Ireland today launched the ‘Begin Together’ initiative, a three year campaign to improve the financial, physical and mental wellbeing of Ireland’s communities supported by a €3 million investment.

Running across the island as a whole, the Begin Together initiative has three strands – the Begin Together Fund, the Begin Together Awards and Begin Together Colleagues. Each strand has a specific purpose, and woven together they will deliver a positive impact on communities on the island of Ireland

• The Begin Together Fund will provide funding of up to €5,000 to 100 local groups to support financial, mental and physical wellbeing projects in their communities across the island of Ireland. The Bank is working with the Community Foundation for Ireland, who will administer the fund and a number of expert partners - The Society of St Vincent de Paul, Sports Ireland, Action Mental Health and Sports NI - who will support the bank in reviewing and shortlisting applicants for funding.

• The Begin Together Awards honour all the great work done by those striving to lead their communities forward and empower local economies. Building from the achievements of the National Enterprise Town Awards, the Begin Together Awards will now be open to towns and villages across the entire island of Ireland.

• Begin Together Colleagues is designed to support Bank colleagues who give generously of their time, effort and skill, awarding their projects up to €5,000 to help their local charities and community groups do more good work in support of physical, mental and financial wellbeing.
