A number of women and children can be seen coming ashore, as volunteers and NGO workers were ready with thermal blankets and supplies.
The arrival followed reports that Turkish officials announced that they would no longer stop refugees from crossing into Europe.
The Greek island has experienced protests in recent days over plans to construct new migrant camps to accommodate the new wave of refugees.
