What if the music by the MJ team never existed? The most plausible outcome will be the prototype themes remaining in the final product of Sonic 3. Of course, as these tracks appeared on an earlier build, they generally sounded empty, choppy or had subpar instrumentation. Just like what I did with the alleged Super Sonic theme (a test entry of this new refined series), the prototype Launch Base Act 2 underwent drastic modifications. Firstly, the bassline was redone from scratch since in the original, it was simplistic compared to the ones present in most themes of the Sonic 3 soundtrack. Secondly, changes to the instrumentation were done, alongside with the addition of extra backing melodies. As for the drums channel, an extra kick drum was added to the pattern, bongos were placed in the middle verse, and the tom drums from the first verse pan left to right. A once choppy PSG channel was corrected -- notes were increased in duration, the chorus effect utilized in several S3 themes was brought here, and an extra melody in the last verse was introduced.
