A case has been filed in the Madras High Court seeking to ban coronavirus awareness collar tune that begins with cough.

The Central Government has taken action through the Telecommunication Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) to raise awareness of coronavirus spreading around the world. As part of its mobile calls, the Federal Health Department has been advertising telecommunication companies that begin with coughing awareness.
Shivrajasekaran, a lawyer from Tiruvallikeni, Chennai, has filed a welfare case in the Madras High Court seeking to block the advertisement.

He alleges, in his petition, that such a vigilante advertising caused a healthy person to become ill. The petition also noted that the advertisement was annoying.

While there are many ways to raise public awareness through SMS, WhatsApp, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Movie, the petition points out that the use of a ringtone that starts with a cough can ruin people's peaceful livelihood. The petition is due to be heard soon.
