To have a foreign visa is good. you can travel abroad anytime. if China suffers a disaster, you who own a visa, especially a US visa, you can escape to US. I once told a lady that I have crush on her, 'I hope you join a Chinese domestic tour group to come to US to meet me. you could try to get visa first. if you do so, you can come any time when you get any chance.' She agreed but not yet apply.
