Trump breaks voter turnout records running virtually unopposed

Trump breaks voter turnout records running virtually unopposed Sky News contributor Nicholas Reece says President Donald Trump attracts “a particular type of voter … a noisy type of voter”.

Mr Reece’s comments came in response to Sky News host Paul Murray’s explanation that in an uncontested Republican Primary, President Trump broke voter turnout records by drawing more voters than any other incumbent in the past 40 years.

In Minnesota, a state the President only lost by 40,000 votes, he “beat every past incumbent’s total in the last four decades”.

Mr Murray said although in a “two-horse race the other horse can always win,” the votes the President is receiving in swing states running virtually unopposed shows his popularity is surging in so-called “lefty states”.
